No matter how the scammers try to lure you into signing up on their site, the one thing they need to make their scam work is for you to pay them. Scam survey sites will nearly always ask you to pay for something---either for signing up, for access to their database of surveys, for an e-book about how to make money taking online surveys, et cetera. Avoid any survey site that asks you to pay to take surveys. Legitimate paid surveys are always free to sign up for and they always pay you, not the other way around.
Another good rule to follow is avoiding survey sites that make outrageous or hard to believe claims about taking surveys online. You will notice there are many sites out there claiming that if you take their surveys you can make $150 an hour or quit your job and work from home taking surveys. Many of these sites have pictures of stacks of dollar bills, fancy cars and bikini-clad women. Avoid any site that looks like they are trying way to hard to get you to sign up.
Now that you know what sites to avoid, you are ready to find some real legitimate paid surveys. There are plenty of good, reputable research firms that pay cash for your opinion. A bit of common sense may be enough to tell when you are looking at the real thing. As a guideline, look for sites that are free to join. This may sound obvious, but there are so many sites out there trying to get your money. The real ones dont want your money, they want your opinions and they will always let you sign up for free, they will never ask for your credit card or bank information and they will never try to sell you anything, or sell your contact information to third-parties. Genuine research companies make their money gathering market data for companies so they can design better products. Your opinion is valuable to these companies and they will offer you plenty of legitimate paid surveys, giving you the opportunity to earn cash and be rewarded for your time and your insight.
